Emirates Athens to Newark

On January 23, Emirates – the Dubai-based airline – announced plans to launch daily flights between Athens and Newark Liberty. EK 209 will leave Athens at 1640 and arrive Newark 2200 – around 11 hours in the air. EK 210 will leave Newark at 2345 and arrive Athens 1505 the following day – approximately a nine hour flight operated by a 777 300. There are first, business and economy classes.

This will bring a whole new service level on flights between the USA and Greece. There are some US carriers saying this violates current aviation agreements but hopefully Emirates will make it work and we wish them all the best…
